UNSW Policy

The concept of 'global citizen' which implies a commitment to embracing cultural diversity, is embedded in the UNSW Learning and Teaching Enhancement Plan 2008-2012. This Plan underscores the importance of cultural diversity in a broad range of programs and activities.

The attributes of a global citizen find expression in the UNSW Graduate Attributes the qualities and skills the University expects its students to develop through their course of study. They include, inter alia, the following:

  • an appreciation of and respect for, diversity
  • a capacity to contribute to, and work within, the international community
  • an appreciation of, and a responsiveness to, change
  • a respect for ethical practice and social responsibility
  • the skills of effective communication

Further information on UNSW diversity related policy can be found at the Student Equity and Diversity website: http://www.studentequity.unsw.edu.au/content/LegislationPolicy.cfm?ss=7
