Learning and Teaching Performance Fund (LTPF)

The Learning and Teaching Performance Fund was established by the Federal Government, the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (formerly known as the Department of Education, Science and Training) as part of the higher education reforms encapsulated in Our Universities: Backing Australia's Future.

The purpose of the fund is to reward those higher education providers that demonstrate "excellence in learning and teaching".

2009 Outcome by Discipline Group:

LTPF 2009

UNSW has been assessed as the top university in the country for the quality of our learning and teaching, under the 2009 Learning and Teaching Performance Fund.

UNSW was awarded $6.94M ($9.5M for 2008 and $6.6M for 2007) for our learning and teaching performance, the highest allocation of any university, and $1.4M above the next ranked institution.

We achieved the top score for excellence in two of the four discipline groups - business, law and economics; and science, engineering, computing and architecture. We also rated in the A1 band for humanities, arts and education, and achieved an A2 ranking for health.
This is the third consecutive year we have been number one in the country for business, law and economics.

For improvement, we were ranked in the top band for all four discipline groups.
